Surface Preperation - Concrete

The Galvanized Iron surface you are working with may have to be treated differently depending on its current state.

New / unpainted

For optimal results on a Galvanized Iron surface in a New / unpainted state, please follow the instructions below for preparation and application. Links to the products utilised in this guide are listed below.

Preperation
  1. Dilute 500 gms copper sulphate with 20 litres water
  2. Apply to new galvanized iron, leave 2-3 hours
  3. Rinse with clean water
Application
  1. Apply 1 coat Ultra-Bond
  2. Apply 2 coats of Ultra-Coat
Products used
Unpainted / Rusted

Preperation
  1. Remove all loose and flaking rust
  2. Do not use a rust remover due to chemical reaction with paint products which could cause flaking
Application
  1. Apply 1 coat Ultra-Bond
  2. Apply 2 coats of Ultra-Metal Treat
  3. Apply 2 coats of Ultra-Coat
