Surface Preperation - Concrete

The Plastered Walls surface you are working with may have to be treated differently depending on its current state.

New / unpainted

For optimal results on a Plastered Walls surface in a New / unpainted state, please follow the instructions below for preparation and application. Links to the products utilised in this guide are listed below.

Preperation
  1. Allow walls to dry at least for 7 days before painting
  2. Remove all loose sand aggregate with brooms or brushes
  3. Fill up cracks with a Polly filla using Bind in place of water
  4. Sand down to a smooth finish
Application
  1. Apply 1 coat Contractors undercoat
  2. Apply 2 coats of Ultra-Coat
Products used
Previously painted & in a good condition

Preperation
  1. Abrade walls thoroughlywith sand paper
  2. Wash down with G.P. Cleaner
  3. Rinse with clean water
Application
  1. Apply 1 coat Ultra-Bond
  2. Apply 2 coats of Ultra-Coat
Products used
Previously painted & in a poor condition

  1. Strip completely back tobare substrate and treat as for new Plaster
  2. Remove all loose sand aggregate with brooms or brushes
  3. Fill up cracks with a Polly filla using Bind in place of water
  4. Sand down to a smooth finish

  1. Apply 1 coat Contractors undercoat
  2. Apply 2 coats of Ultra-Coat
Products used

  1. Remove excess thoroughly by scraping or wire brush
  2. Apply SelfCoat Prep and work into surfaces
  3. Leave 30 min then rinse of with clean water
  4. If necessary repeat
Application
  1. Apply 1 coat Ultra-Bond
  2. Apply 2 coats of Ultra-Coat
Products used
Done with Rhinolite (Glasstone) and unpainted
